The Paris Ile-de-France Comité
Régional du Tourisme (regional tourism committee) promotes the region to
tourists as a tourism destination.
Its role especially
includes:
- promoting Paris Ile-de-France’s touristic advantages to its French and
foreign visitors;
- making the tourism possibilities of Paris and its region clearer (in
relation to events, culture, heritage, etc.);
- helping ensure the welcome and information provided to tourists is of a
quality.
Sharing the "new Paris
Ile-de-France" with you
Since 2004, the regional
tourism committee has implemented a deliberate and ambitious supply strategy. This
strategy is based on three key points:
- promotion of the destination is organized around its geographical
centre: Paris. Paris
is used here in its tourist sense, taking in everything inside the ring-road,
extending along the public transport arteries and covering the whole region
around the capital;
- the destination’s "eternal riches" (monuments, museums, etc.)
combined with the modernity and vitality of its cultural creativity: fashion,
design, architecture and contemporary art, etc.;
- the many artistic, cultural and sporting events which constantly mark
out the life of our region. Our role is to promote "Paris Ile-de-France"
by showing that something is always happening here and making you want to
visit… and return!
