The public Port of Paris Authority was established in 1968.
Its goal is to develop passenger and cargo river transport as an alternative to road transport. It operates, develops, and runs 10 maritime platforms and 60 urban ports in the Paris area.
With 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) of business properties and nearly 1 million m² (10.7 million sq. ft.) of warehouses, offices, and facilities, the Authority is able to offer installation solutions and propose turnkey multimodal transport logistics.
A major regional promoter of environmentally-friendly economic growth, the Authority champions safe, economical, and nonpolluting water transport. It is a key partner of numerous ecologically responsible companies.
The Port of Paris Authority is now France’s top domestic port, and number two in all of Europe.
